What Defines an "American" Blend?

I try not to overthink it. If it’s (a) comin to your town, and (b) will help you party it down, then it’s an American blend

Friends of mine from Europe love certain American blends. It's something we do very well like Bengal Slices, War Horse, Seattle Pipe Club. Other stuff just doesn't seem to float the Europeans boat. Funny enough the thing I get asked for the most is real American chewing tobacco. By real I mean Red Man, Levi, Cannon Ball and Jacksons Apple Jack. The last one being pretty rare and I often wonder if it is still made these days.
