Patiently waited 6 months on these

Quite good, lots of Honduran-y flavors including something that reminds me of pumpkin/squash and cumin

Wrapper quite thin and a couple minor splits from swelling throughout the smoke. I wouldn't say it's extreme out here but it is 42°F

All in all a pleasant smoke

Apparently yeah, till it's gone which will be ??

that's ugly. I got my box for under $10 and I think under $9 per, but I suppose it was 2 years ago..

I thought this too. None of my (3) local retailers could tell me anything about it. But then they really didn't stock the x000 line except for 2000s.

Then smokingpipes.com got a restock of skinnies a few months ago so ???

Amen

I feel like I'm finally settling in to a few brands that, to me, offer value. Joya, Aladino, and Dunbarton have been getting pretty much all my cigar money lately

Another brand that has my attention is Fabrica 5. While I have not yet tried them the marketing/branding (no frills, not even a box or band) appeals to me.
Late response, but let me know if you try the Fabrica 5. I am a sucker for cool packaging, but if I can get a great cigar for a good price, give them to me naked and bundled.

THIS, is a distasteful reminder of that reprehensible crime against humanity noble Holiday tradition, known as the Pipes Magazine Secret Santa tobacco swap, wherein unspeakable reprobates august and esteemed members of the Pipes Magazine Forum dump their grievous errors bestow upon their fellows only the worst crap finest vintage tobaccos flung into boxes carefully and lovingly gift wrapped. It is a time of horror and dread gratitude and eager anticipation haunting the victims to the end of their days lovingly remembered.

Swisher Sweets but I want to one day try a Deadwood Sweet Jane and a Tabak Especial. I just spend all my money on pipe tobacco and whiskey.
I don't smoke a ton of flavored/infused/sweet cap cigars, but I can vouch for those made by Drew Estate as being high quality. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think each Deadwood "Girl" has a different flavor. I've had a couple of the Crazy Alice's, which are basically cone-shaped. And maybe it was the shape that put it in my mind, but it was like a sugar cone you might put ice cream in. I thought they were quite pleasant. I also had some Rocky Patel Javas back in the day and thought they were good, too, and also made by Drew Estate. Tabak Especiales, I have not tried, but I bet they're similar in quality to the others. For some reason, coffee seems to be the "flavor" that works best with cigars, as I do not care for Acid (LSD is pretty good, though), or some of the fruit-flavored cigars I've tried (like the Tatianas)

The benefit to the Deadwood, Tabak Especial and Javas is that they're real, handmade, long-filler cigars with the same quality tobaccos found in some of the best cigars in the world. The Deadwood and Javas have Nicaraguan fillers, so they likely add additional "natural tobacco" nuances and flavors aside from the added ones. Then maybe you get curious about trying Nicaraguan or Dominican cigars that aren't infused and start to enjoy the different flavors that come from different leaf types and growing regions. The downside is you're going to pay for the difference. The upside is I think you'll really notice the difference in terms of flavor, aroma, smoking experience and overall quality. The smoking duration is going to be way longer. You can still smoke Swishers and maybe mix in one of the above as a special luxury when you're able and want to treat yourself. I used to smoke 2-4 cigars a day, and once spent 25K on cigars (probably 18K of that on Cubans, alone) in a year. Now I smoke 1-2 cigars a week, because I work in social services, which is not as lucrative a career as working in tech. It's what I can afford right now.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with smoking Swishers if you enjoy them, but they're made with wrappers that are essentially rolling papers made with reconstituted and hydrated tobacco, and the filler tobaccos are shredded from undisclosed locations, which sounds nefarious, but I don't mean it like that. I suspect they're made to not have much flavor at all aside from the sweetness that comes from the tip. Again, if you like Swishers, smoke them. But try a few of the Deadwood, Tabak Especial and Javas, too if you can! It's not about snobbery, it's about possibly finding something you may like even more!
