Garmirian 15th No. 5

1000012474.jpg
Last one. Getting down to the last few on all Garmirians bought back in February, excepting the Gourmet PCs which I have a box of

Favorites were RE, 15th, 20th, and 30th. No rush to re-up as I'll be smoking the Gourmets when I want that PG flavor profile. I think it's unique and special and something worth trying a few of. I'm glad I sampled widely across the portfolio, 3-5 smokes each

Also unique is the opportunity to buy well-aged sticks from McLean for what I feel is a nominal upcharge. *I have not yet done this

Love the pictures

How was the smoke? I've been tempted by their smallest, the "Claude"

VSG Petite from yesterday

The claudes sound good, says the criollo 98 was aged 6 years. I like the lonsdales , each one seems to give a different experience tho, this one was spicier than any I’ve had before, last time was sweeter with graham cracker goin. Been dry boxing them a week, and they smoke and taste a lot better. I’ve had a couple that were duds but a couple that I really enjoyed a lot. Solid coffee cigar tho man.

Thanks for the comments !

Re: dryboxing, I don't do this myself, but, have a humidor running at 62-63rh

For anyone finding their smokes a bit wanting I'd encourage 1 or the other (drybox or just drop rh). If no effect then go right back to whatever you were doing before. But you might be pleasantly surprised..

A very good 452 Maduro that's been sitting in the low 60s for months

Went to Long Meadow Lake. This was all water last year

Heard that, I keep 62rh bovedas but my temp has been running hot this summer around 74 unfortunately so my box is reading pretty wet at 68rh. Some of my smokes like Plasencia and Foundation do well and taste good up there but Aganorsa and Aladino and others got to be 62 or under for me, so next summer I’ll switch to 58rh bovedas and not have to dry box for so long, it’s a pain. Really I should be more focused on keeping a steady 68F but I can’t afford that right now, even though my cigars would greatly appreciate it!

Great points,
I wouldn't want anyone reading to think I'm saying all cigars benefit from lower RH, but some certainly do. Strong agree on the Aladino there

My Fuente RSG, Joya Antaño, LFD N.A.S all seem to like it mid- high 60s best

Re: temp, yeah, ugh. When my box spent a few days mid- high 70s this spring when it was 90° in May, bugs hatched. Not recommended. I've got stuff in the (finished) basement now, where it's cooler. I'm not A/C'ing this house below 70 all summer, no way

Something I'd like to do someday is graph total water content in the air at a given RH value, at different temps. Holding RH at say 64, we all know there's more water in the air at 74°F than there is at 64°F. I'd like to specifically know how much that difference is
