Actually, I was listening to the Lizards as I smoked it this morning..."smoking along" with them. I came to the same conclusions: very good first two thirds, a big drop off in the last third; I had more touchups than expected, too, although mine was not under-filled. I gave it an 8 because the berry and spice early flavors were very interesting. At that price point, I will not revisit. Glad to know of another Lounge Lizards listener. I am a huge fan.
I wonder if time will fix that final 3rd... I'm gonna let others determine that :)

That Garmirian I posted yesterday is only smoke in recent memory that was best in final 3rd

I've just started listening to the lizards, good stuff. I also like "How bout that cigar."

Gift from my buddy, 2 years @ 65rh. I came in with high hopes...

Ridiculously plugged. As in the first 2" near the head was packed so full and tight that perfectdraw could only make it tolerable... barely. Too bad cuz these can be great. Revisited Halfwheel's review to see release date (Sept. '23), and was reminded that 2 out of 3 review sticks were problematicly loose. So, yeah

This afternoon I’m enjoying an Old Virginia Cabinet, which I bought at the Old Virginia Tobacco store in Alexandria, VA, about one week and 3 hours ago.

Not the fanciest cigar in the humidor, but it’s exactly what I wanted today.
Great scenery. What a strange fall eh? Almost 90° here today

I'll be heading up to northern WI soon but not until we get a good rain to blow the sandbar out of the river's mouth

Sometimes we just want a good smoke. Actually that's often what I want :)

Been a while since I've logged in. Had some good and not so good smokes lately. Smoking a Jose L Piedra Brevas. I had to stop at a smoke shop to get a grinder here in TJ and saw they had a small humidor. It's not a LCdH or Habanos Specialists shop, but I figure, who the hell would counterfeit a JLP? For those that don't know JLPs are handmade, short-filler with tobacco from outside the main Piñar del Rio growing regions. I guess the region is Remedios and is close to Santa Clara, Cuba.

I am enjoying it. Mainly that creamy, cedary twang that is standard with Cuba. Could use some more sweetness. Burn is straight and draw is loose. For those that want to get that Cuban terroir, but can't afford to regularly smoke the long-filler brands, let alone all the special editions that are coming out at crazy prices, definitely worth a 5 pack.

I love this cigar, and always keep a few around. However last time ai purchased these were August 2024, so this one has been in my humidor for at least 13 months if not more.

This Padron 1926 Serie Natural exquisite as usual

Have you had a chance to try the Black Label now that they are regular release? I had one from a CRA sampler a few years ago and really liked it, but when I saw one at a local B&M for close to $60 last week, I had to keep walking.

Yep, on the rare occasions when I have time to sit out and enjoy a cigar, I don't want an unending parade of esoteric flavors, I simply want a nice, satisfying smoke. Whatever that means at the time--more and more often, an ordinary CT will fill that desire.

Strange is right! It's due to hit 84 here today, but the leaves are 10-14 days ahead of normal. Some say it means an early winter. Some say it means a cold winter. Some say it means a mild winter. It's almost like everyone is guessing ;)

I hope that you have a pleasant trip to northern WI!

No. I should sometimes visit B&Ms to try out these expensive singles. At $60 it becomes extremely difficult to justify the purchase. 😀
