Nice to see you back. How was the smoke? I'm not familiar with that one...

Garmirian 25th Short Robusto. Nice flavors, poor burn

It's a Casa Fuente, so Opus filler and binder with African Cameroon wrapper. It used to be you could only get them at Casa Fuente in Vegas, but with the pandemic, Fuente started distributing them randomly along with their normal holiday HTF offerings. Now that Casa Fuente's Vegas location is apparently closing its doors, I'd expect these to start making their rounds more. If you ever see the Phantom/lancero, buy it, age it, and thank me later.

I would never want to be without CF and Opus as they both showcase the blend in different ways - one of those instances where the wrapper does indeed change the experience markedly. There's also a Maduro CF out there - I'm letting mine rest for a few years before checking in on those.

Bummer on the poor burn on the Gamirian. I've looked at those a time or two, but never tried.

It’s 74⁰ F outside. Having a Gran Habano Vintage 2002 Churchill (listed as a 7.0" x 50, but, it’s closer to 46) on the porch.

Susan and I just got back from a local demolition derby. We had so much fun last year, we attended it again this year. It was pretty exciting. We got to see one car get flipped over.

This one was doing well and eventually caught fire.

Another got hit so hard, that the passenger side airbag deployed and its plastic panel shot twenty feet into the air.

We were sitting next to one of the drivers who was going to be in the stock car event. I told him I had to get a shot of the winner.

He was doing really well and took two cars out right away, but his car got so damaged, he could only go in reverse; shortly after that, he couldn’t even get it into drive. But, he did get third place! It was pretty funny when two little kids came up to him and asked for his address.

Thank you. Now I remember! I have seen those once, but didn't buy. They were definitely not the lancero version... I'll keep an eye out

Re: the Garmirian, I've been working my way through his lines. A few have been just wonderful, but more have been obnoxiously tight (the No. 5s) or loose (toritos, short robustos) to the point of burn issues. I didn't even sample until they had 3 month's stable rest. They are now closer to 6, everything should be plenty evened out

*ones in the "Bombones" format have smoked well

This Casa Cuba was the best smoke I've had in a while-probably since that Garmirian bombones 20th. I don't mean to knock his brand. They can be absolutely excellent. I'd just like a little more consistency when spending $10-15 for a little cigar and I do my part to rest them right

So either I got some bum Garmirians or I'm some kinda jerk that wouldn't know good if it hit me across the face. I suppose both of these could also be true..

A week ago these Gourmet Petite Coronas smelled like lilies. Strongly

Today, that was mostly gone. Faint...

But wow- all the things. Floral, dried flowers, wood, honey, spice, carmel. Just incredible, all the way down. One of the best cigars I've ever smoked

Made right, smoked right
