@Kilgore Trout that R44 is a favorite of mine. Do you age them or have any experience with aged ones?

@Smokey87 welcome! Sounds like an unintentional dryboxing of sorts?

@cshubhra sounds like a nice start. Did it hold up all the way through for you?

@tubbyninja1337 nice to see you on the cigar side

@Rockyrepose nice pic with the Connecticut X yellow lily

@Bbailey324 a few months can do a lot sometimes right?

@craig61a always enjoy seeing you post a nice vintage

Hey Ben, I had a couple of the R58s that had around 4 years of age on them, and they were fantastic. I went down to Holt's to buy a box, but they were out. So I grabbed a fist full of the R44s. That was probably a year ago, and that was my last one. I was actually thinking of driving down today to grab some more!

Yes it did! Fantastic recommendation. I would get some more!
Glad it worked out!

Decent, stubby little thing @ 3.5 X 44. The two I've smoked have had firm draws and surprisingly long burn times. 4 month's rest

For $3 and change on sale they are ok

If the next one is firm I might drill it out with perfectdraw to see if some of the alleged sweetness from the "viso corojo maduro" filler shows itself more

St. Croix, above Stillwater, but not far off!
Ah, I see it now. You're near the bank, not on small water!

@Kilgore Trout thanks for sharing. I've got a box of the 44s that I decided to crack into at about the year mark. Good to know they can sit for a while longer

Did you end up running for more?

@tubbyninja1337 all good here, thanks for the well wishes!

@kcmontie hope your having a good time. Did you travel?

I hope @AppalachianPipe92's Micallef smoked well. These little Migdalias have not been performing for me

We used to smoke these AJ Last Calls quite a bit

My Father La Duena Petite Lancero on a beautiful morning, really nice flavor.IMG_20250720_072619.jpg
I had a Don Pepin earlier this week that burned terribly, and knowing these were from the same company I was a bit worried I would have a repeat. But this thing had about the best burn of any cigar I've had. It burned straight and even all the way down to the nub, I didn't have to touch it up once or even consider it.IMG_20250720_081643.jpg

On the menu for the evening is a UC10 in the corona viva vitola paired with a glass of Guinness. This is one of my favorite combinations.

Hope you all had a great Saturday!

This looks like a great pairing. Have you tried Dunbarton's Broadleaf offerings?

@PipePint&Cross those are great. I heard an interview with someone from My Father who said La Dueña was their most underrated line. I like the Petite Belicoso (as well as the little Lancero). Give 'em 6 months and they absolutely shine. A great value

Despite some initial burn issues it held the ash well

All in all a very nice smoke, with woody and creamy notes in addition to the usual. The filler gets some oak cask aging
