Gotta check this place out!

One of the guys there speaks cryptically to John—on occasion he offers cigars made “with a very certain tobacco”—we take it to possibly mean Cuban leaf, but the guy might just be having some fun by being vague and mysterious; at least two of these cigars made “with a very certain tobacco” were musky and earthy enough (with a hint of vanilla) that they could’ve been made with Cuban leaf. There’s no way to know, but they were rather enjoyable. Raices cigars sometimes have construction issues and begin to unravel towards the end of the smoke. The last ones we smoked held up fine.

Smoked a La Galera Connecticut Cepo (short panetela size at about 5 x 36). Started ok and then got boring. I have a few left from a box and I think it just wasn't meant for aging.

I'm making it all right with this La Aurora Preferidos Cameroon Corona. It's easy to smoke these too fast, but they're just right at a slow pace. The black tea notes La Auroras can have are just stellar.

I have to say, I think that the whole Liga brand are beautiful cigars… the construction is really on point. With that said, I hate to it, Injust don’t love them. I’ve gone through countless Liga 9’s trying to “like them”. Same with the UF4… Tonight I revisited the H99… I just can’t find the love for the flavor profile of them.
