Ooh sounds fancy :)

Any good?
I bought 10 for the humidor and this is the first one I’ve smoked. Based on my limited experience with this cigar and with cigars in general I thought it was well constructed - good draw and burn. The flavor was good but not anything special. Overall it was quite enjoyable. I’d probably buy more at sale price- probably not at full price

Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur this evening, don't remember which one. Nice cigar but a bit on the mild side compared to what I have been liking lately.

I wonder if this blend has changed a lot over the years, or if newer blends in general have just gotten stronger; the Excalibur was my daily smoke in the early ’90s—back then, they were often described as medium to full, even full to heavy depending on who was describing them. The current versions definitely seem different. If memory serves, back then, the filler was all Honduran with a Connecticut Shade wrapper. These days I’ve seen listings include Nicaraguan leaf in the mix.

I think I only have one Excalibur III English Claro from the flat band days (no embossing or metallic ink, just brown and cream yellow ink) and will probably do a side by side comparison with a more current release, but with thirty years of age on it, I doubt it will taste how I remember them.
