On today's menu is Illusione's Epernay with a nice black coffee to sip. This is one of my absolute favorite morning cigars to pair with coffee ☕️ creamy, nutty, with some light cedar, overall mild and well behaved imo.

On a side note, I'm going to try my hand at making some pipe mud for a new estate pipe i picked up from ebay. Noticed a little chip in the bowl unfortunately. I've read a few posts and it doesn't seem too difficult.

Leatherneck, which I suspect is another Davidus stick since a search on the Internet for "Leatherneck Cigar" only brings me to Davidus and the USMC.

Initially I got similar notes to root beer, then generic darker cigar flavor. Now that it's in my ghosted pipe, mingling with the specters of War Horse and Deertongue, I'm getting a similar flavor and creaminess to Dragon Well tea (which a friend once brought me back a tin of as a souvenir from a science conference in the PRC).

I picked up two CAO Amazon Basin today from the latest release. This one is from a 2016 box I have smoked through. I'm going to smoke a new one tomorrow.

I've only had last year's release, which were pretty good. But I've heard the originals (2016?) were the best. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts on the comparison

Don Carlos No.4 natural to get Fuente Friday started. Have a great day, y’all!View attachment 364073
This reminded me that I have a few No.4s, so I thought I would bookend Fuente Friday the same way you got it started.

Unfortunately, I missed the sunset, which was magnificent, by a few minutes

7 months in the box hasn't changed these much, maybe smoothed out a bit. But one thing I like about these and the Gran Reserva greens is that they seem pretty good right off the shelf

Re: Fuente Friday, it may be of interest that Halfwheel recently awarded Fuente 2024 company of the year

I haven't been paying attention long enough to comment on the claim that Fuente is, right now, "at its very peak." What I can say is that I find them consistently good, and have more Fuentes in my boxes than any other brand, by far
