The Lower Forty of Hill Country
The Inklings also held 'supplementary' meetings in local pubs on Tuesday lunchtimes: The Eagle and Child and The Trout Inn, mostly.
If I recall correctly, The Eagle and Child was a favorite of Mr. Tolkien. (I also just noticed that I badly mangled the spelling of his last name in my post above).

Absolutely correct, The Inklings nicknamed it "The Bird and Baby"! I'm sure they would have been fun company after 'a few scoops of the foaming'!!

Principles of Brewing Science by George Fix. I cannot understand most of the chemical stuff but I am still finding it helpful from a home brewer point of view.

“Song of the Lion” by Anne Hillerman. She is the late Tony Hillerman’s daughter, and is picking up the Leaphorn and Chee Mystery series. Great southwestern mystery series.

I recomend this book to all my pipe smoking friends

J.R.R. Tolkien A Life Inspired. author Wyatt North.

The first part of the book talks about Tolkiens life as professor of Anglo-Saxon studies at the University of Oxford

then the book then tells how Tolkien came up with and then started to write about his middle earth series of books.

On a side note How often in todays society do you see any images of men with a pipe in their mouth? I was attracted to this book just by the cover!

I tend to read several at once, switching between them as I fancy. Currently though I'm re-reading the complete Sherlock Holmes stories, along with the newest Han Solo Star Wars story that was published. I usually keep a non-fiction book around as well, currently its about Genghis Khan and his empires dealings with religions encountered as they spread.
