What are You Watching? Year 2022

The run up to the EMMYs has begun, so yours truly is getting slammed with programming to watch. Right now I'm watching the Apple+ production of Issac Azimov's Foundation. Initially I didn't care much for it, as the storytelling seemed a little cold, But that's in keeping with the books.

The production values are truly outstanding and it's been growing on me with each passing episode.

I don’t watch any TV but, will a play do? We recently went to see C. S. Lewis’ The Great Divorce at the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando. It impressed me so much, that I am now reading the book.

Re-watched Wilder's masterpiece Sunset Boulevard. Only saw it once before, many years ago. Finally got around to getting the DVD.

A truly great film. Gloria Swanson was magnificent.

Wrapping up The Simpsons, Season 12. Pretty great up through season 9, after which it begins to slip a little IMHO. Past season 13 I find it unwatchable. 3/5

My girlfriend is making me watch the Harry Potter films, just the first one so far. It's interesting to see what is essentially the 'Star Wars' of it's generation, and it's own particular take on the Special One myth. The child acting was awful, but we'll let that slide (they were 10 after all). However, all the Quiddich was unbearable, almost as bad as that little **** doing the pod racing in Episode 1. I have other comlaints but I'll stop now. 3/5

In retaliation, I made her watch Bad News Bears (the original naturally). Walter Matthau, foul mouth kids and baseball. 5/5

Just finished the first season of Norsemen. Funny at times, but basically a one trick pony. I'll be generous and give it a 3 out of five.
