As a kid, I watched The Today Show on a daily basis. It was just a way of seeing what's up, pre-internet. Now it's kind of a habit, except that I HATE this show and its political slant. Thanks to the DVR, I can watch a 2 hour episode while fast forwarding through political commentating. A 2 hour show, minus commercials and commentary, reduced to maybe 15 minutes of useless viewing. Old habits die hard.
