Plus, That fast cut editing is enough to give a person a seizure. I can't watch movies like that, I get headaches from it and can't understand whats going on when a million things are flashing across the screen every 2 seconds.
While I enjoy horror movies from the 70's ie Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. I have recently been watching old black and whites from the 40's - check out any movies by Val Lewton - lot's of atmosphere. I Walked with a Zombie is a classic. For sheer paranoia - rewatch Romero's Night of the Living Dead - a penultimate scary movie. After the 80's horror movies became just a Grand Guinol spectacle - too much blood and gore with little left to the imagination.
Clano some of my favorite movies are the old black and whites. I have horror flicks from as far back as 1919 although im quite partial to the universal horror flicks of the 30s through the 50s. Boris Karloff as the Mummy is one of my favorites. I have the Universal Dvd Box sets for each of their major monsters. There is something to be said for the old silent horror flicks though. Some are genuinely creepy. Think ill go watch Lon Chaney in the Phantom of the Opera now =p.
I came across this film on netflix a few weeks ago. It takes some time to get started. But when it does this film is amazing. I had a fun time watching this film and I reccommend it to those that like strange movies.
Very blair witch esque - Norwegian style lol

Criminal Minds is playing in the background, but I'm really just ignoring it....it's helping to keep me awake so I can trol the boards just a little longer and deny myself some much needed sleep.
Sherlock Holmes played by Arthur Watner from 1930's. The pipe he smokes in it looks like a bent BBB or Peterson spigott http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9sdhosC3ho
