Severance. —AppleTV.

This is one of the more complicated shows I've seen on TV. I had to read several reviews with spoilers to get more out of it. Tons of imagery and signs. 5/5.

Minx, HBOMax, a series set in the 70's where a women's lib advocate wants to start a magazine, but the only publisher that would give her a chance was a low budget porn rag peddler. It is hilarious. It has always perplexed me how half of all women's rights folks say that porn objectifies women, and the other half take control of porn saying that it liberates them. This series deals with that, in an entertaining way, giving lightness to more serious concepts. You guys won't like the nudity, but seeing the other character's reactions to it, made me actually laugh out LOUD. 5/5

This one is next on my list. I love Jeremy Clarkson... TOPGEAR!!!

LOL, I'm sure I will and no matter what it's other redeeming qualities I'm sure my wife will accuse me of tuning in just for that!

Haven’t caught anything binge-worthy in ages. Recently watched Inventing Ana (4/5), and Tinder Swindler (5/5).
Sopranos remains my absolute top for series, not a single bad episode. Breaking Bad, Lost are two I watched a lot of but at some point my interest trailed, and my wife hates both of them so can’t rewatch. She says the Sopranos are too much “for men”, to which I reply “a-men”.

My all time favorite series to binge, and it was a forum favorite when I joined, was Mad Men. Talk about real pipesmoking, boozin', and womanizing at work. Mad Men had it all. And, we even had one of the actors, Michael Gladis on here. If anyone here hasn't see it, you'll need to be checking this out, asap. You can't even be a real forum member here without having seen it. 5/5

Mad Men was a great show. I'd rate it 4.9/5...drop .1 because I thought the last episode sucked.

Anyone who likes the curvy buxom red-head can watch her in Tin Star on Amazon Prime. Another good show.

So many good shows these days, it’s hard to keep up.

Just finished the latest season of Better Call Saul (the one on Netflix) there may be a new season on cable?

All in all, it’s no Breaking Bad but quite good for a spin off. I love pretty much anything that Bob Odenkirk does. He was awesome in the first Fargo season too! I’ve been following him since his Mr. Show days.

Wait, Michael Gladis was a member here?? Is he really a pipe smoker? I just assumed he played one on tv? Was he investigating his role as a pipe smoker here on the forums? Mad Men is a great show and I am in love with the red head, that is a real woman!

The red head (Christina Hendricks?) is in the Tin Star series on Prime. Check it out.

We’ve had some actors learning “our ways” on here over the years. Ha ha. There are many series and movies with pipesmokers these days. He was on the PM radioshow with Brian.

I have watched a few episodes of that show about the Jewish lady comedian who is the warm up act in a strip clubs in the 1960s New York. The Amazing Mrs Mazel Tov or something like that, her ex husband has got some American Chinese girl pregnant and a lot of the cast remind me of my second wife's family. It's funny as hell and if I can remember what its called I'll put a link in here.

Churchill And The Movie Mogul - about Churchill’s relationship with Alexander Korda and the importance of British film propaganda leading up to and during WWII. 5/5

Next up an example with Noel Coward’s and David Lean’s In Which We Serve, also a 5/5. A nice TCM evening.

Currently watching 1883 on the Paramount + streaming service. It's an epic tale of people moving west in search of opportunity. Strong cast, high production values, and not a single trope or cliché left out.

Still, while it isn't original to any great extent, it's a mild diversion. If you yearn for a time when men were men and their livestock were terrified of them, women knew their place, children were ciphers, verities were simple, and nobody had ever seen a bath, this is a show for you

Fans of Western Expansion stories might enjoy it.

As I watched the proceedings I was startled to realize that two of my pipes were made in 1883.

Oh I think I remember that episode but vaguely. I’m going to have to go back and listen to that one. That’s pretty funny to hear that actors come here to study our kind, haha.
