Just finished Season 1 of Special Ops - Lioness (4/5).
They shot scenes at a fake Ft Bragg, which is really the decommissioned Fort Ritchie (see 60 Minutes specials on "The Ritchie Boys", a ops training facility in WWII). I drove by when they were filming and noticed the sign change and wondered why.
That is Site R (underground Pentagon) up on the mountain and Camp David is adjacent.
I'll definitely watch Season 2 (looks like another win for Taylor Sheridan)

I'm currently watching A24's Civil War, an overly optimistic and cheerfully lighthearted portrayal of what a modern day Civil War in the US might look like and it's effects on those involved. Think of it as a Sullivan's Travels as we follow a quartet of war photographers traveling to Washington DC and recording their experiences along the way, accompanied by exploding body parts, gallons of blood, murderous backwoods psychopaths, lots of explosions, tracer fire, up front assassination, with moody guitar music to accompany the mayhem. Still, it has its charms, with the battle for the Capital very well realized.

Reality would be far less "civilized".

Last night we dedicated 5 long hours to a couple of movies.

1. Odysseus - really liked it. Well done. Not all that true to the stories I've never had time to get all the way through, lol, but for a movie and setting up some interest I thought it did a good job. And I've always been a sucker for Juliette Binoche. A solid 4.5/5*.

2. The Count of Monte Cristo - a new French telling of the tale. If I simply reminded all that the French revered Jerry Lewis maybe that would suffice, lol. It looks good, the acting is good. I figured because it was a French production it would be somewhat faithful to the plot of the book, one of my absolute favorites from the first time I read it when I was 13 to now. I was WRONG. It insults the plot of the book from the very outset and then turns it on its ear for three #$%@&$%# hours. The moronic and continued use of an oft used trick from the cinematic Mission Impossible is unbelievable to the point of putting anyone off suspending disbelief but the liberties taken by the French with this tale are unforgivable. .25/5* because if you never read the book and were a kid you might find three hours of entertainment, but then you've been taken in by a dumbed down fraudulent version of a classic in the name of what, exactly.

I've been watching "Mayor of Kingstown" and "Tulsa King!" Both are strangely comical, actually make me laugh comical, yet The Mayor of Kingstown is very violent as well, yet somehow, I am hooked on it. Tulsa King is also violent but not to the degree of Mayor of Kingstown but hooked on it as well.

First season of The Pitt.
on HBO plus. The first medical drama that is very very close to being accurate about the inner workings of emergency medicine and the business of healthcare.

I have avoided most because my medical background prevented me from watching shows that were laughable, and just flat out false pertaining to medicine .
