"Mr. Mercedes". Peacock.

Stephen King fans may rejoice at this one but, like most of Mr. King's offerings lately, I found it tedious and predictable. Mr. Gleeson seems to fit the bill but all the other characters ring hollow for they are not really characters. They are merely cartoon cut-outs or one-sided caricatures that do more to give away the author's prejudices than to propel what could have been a decent storyline.

Ironic that Mr. King seems to despise the very thing he has become...a rich white man.

2/5 after "shakey-cam" deduction.

"Suspects". Acorn

This might have been a good series but for the director who thought he was the next Fellini. I think it follows three detectives around a London police station.

The problem was me trying to follow those three detectives. The director spent maybe 7 seconds and 3 shot angles on one of the three characters and their aspect of the case before snapping onto another 7 seconds and 3 shots on the second character and so forth.

I cried "uncle" when the director used 7 different shot angles (incuding two overheads) while shooting a simple 10 second scene with three people sitting in one room, with two of those shots from outside the room.

I would give it a rating but, after "shakey-cam" deductions, we would be in the negatives.

"The Circuit" Acorn.

I cried "uncle" early on this one. The camera work was worse than "Suspects". In one bar scene, there was a quick zoom in, a fast zoom out, a blurry head shot missing most of the head and another missing most of the chin. All with one man walking into the bar. The camera was jerking so bad, I thought the cameraman was epileptic.

Remember when directors used to set the camera down and let the actors tell the the story? A test pattern is easier on the eyes than this series.

Negatives, after "shakey-cam" deduction.

I just finished watching The Serpent on Netflix, which is based on a true story. It’s pretty long, and bounces around a lot, so if you tend to zone out, take too many trips to the kitchen or bathroom, you’re going to miss weeks, months, and even years, BUT it’s still a very good mini-series (8 episodes). 4/5 ?

Last night, we started watching Q: Into the Storm. And, I'm really not surprised that so many people are that stupid in the US. It's very interesting, very well done, but the subject will make you outraged at just how stupid most people are. Brightbart, 4Chan, 8Chan, Q... is it that people are attracted to dumb conspiracy theories, or were they groomed into this cult like mentality? People were going to a site that hosted the world child porn, human trafficking, and Nazi groups to read Q posts about how someone else out there was responsible for child porn, human trafficking and Nazis. Jeesh.

I don't recommend dumb people watch it, but I give it a 4.5/5

I just watched Stowaway on Netflix. I like Netflix, but sometimes their original movies lack substance. They’ll have 20 minutes of interesting material and they will stretch it out for 2 hrs. If you have any form of ADD, then you’re drifting away... like this movie. Watch at your on peril. 2/5 ? (I only gave it “2” because I like space movies, otherwise a “1”)

Yes, sadly, they are releasing some pretty crappy movies this year.

We just watched "Senior Moments", starring William Shatner (89 years old!) and a few other aging stars. It makes a Hallmark movie look well written. What a load of crap. Also watch this at your own peril. We had loaded on my wife's Fire for a plane trip. It's saving grace was it was short....
