I just bought another Şahin Pipe. It's a mini poker type. Anyone here the smoking the Şahin Pipes? (A Turkish Brand)

I have a Shahin cigarette holder that my brother gifted me, he bought it during his visit to Turkey, I quit cigarettes so it is just sitting on the shelf.

Unfortunately Shahin pipes are not very popular among the Western pipe smokers. My local B&M carries some, I don't own one, but they are decent I think.

Gül kökü in Turkish is literally translated as Rose Root, in fact it is just Briar.

I'd never heard of these before. So far as I know, they are not marketed in the U.S. at all, or maybe by one or several retailers. Calling briar "rose root" seems like a botanical mistake, but it may just be branding.

Googled "tobacco pipes made of rose root" and found nothing for rose root;. Hits for "rose wood" and "rose tobacco pipes." Perhaps the company sells few pipes in the West because they are using a name for the substance of the pipe that is unknown by the Western pipe smoking public. If rose root is briar why not use a name that the West knows?

Their website is in Turkish, @PipeIT probably used Google translate and the word was translated literally.
