Half way through this bowl of year 2024 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Fed all the cats. Tomato the Brave practically inhaled his wet food. He thanked me and then wanted out. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Done with work early today. Now cleaning up my barn that has been neglected for almost a decade now. It’s been a home to show pigs, it’s had plenty of wrench twisting, and been used as a storage and catch all for awhile now. Time to reclaim “my space”. I’m looking forward to having it back to my liking, being able to find tools, and having a comfortable place to smoke this winter. It’s strange though…I’m cleaning up memories from when my children were…well, children.

Finished my first ever bowl of Samuel Gawith Cabbie’s Mixture this morning. I scored a couple of tins from WCC in a photo finish last week. Been wanting to try it for years. Tin note is very strong with hay, tea, earth, and what I want to compare to raisin bread?. It also had a whiff of, and forgive me for saying this, menthol. The kind of smell when you’re at someone’s house and they’re a menthol cigarette smoker. Once you light it up it’s unmistakably Lakeland tobacco which people seems to either love or hate. My palate doesn’t get the soap taste that many experience which is why I tend to be an SG fan. Very much hay and citrus along with the Perique. Was very damp and I’m not a veteran smoker so I gave it some dry time. Reminds me of escudo somewhat (I’ve never had the “old Three Nuns”). I didn’t get any sweetness per se but a few subtle hints of it. This was just the first smoke from a fresh tin. We’ll see what some jar time does. IMG_6446.jpeg
