Near the half way mark of this bowl of Silent beta test in a 1960s Austrian meerschaum bent apple with a tapered yellow stem. Tomato the Brave came in, ate a lot more than usual since he missed his regular lunch time, and then wanted out. It's humid outside, but beautiful, so I don't blame him for that. Daisy the Feral Princess was sunning herself on the deck. Harry the Hairy is still snoozin' on the couch. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Yesterday was a banner day here at the farm. The good old postal service brought me a couple of nice things.
First, I received my new pipe which is the Briarworks C52 Rhodesian. I was inspired recently by @Steddy when he showed his Briarworks 45th anniversary pipe which was built around the shape of their C52. It's noteworthy that the C52 is a "tip of the hat" to the Comoys vintage 498 shape.

Anyway, I was not able to get one of the anniversary models, but I did order this one. Today I had my maiden voyage smoke with some Country Squire, Cowboy Coffee.

Oh, and speaking of Country Squire.... the other gift from the mail box was some of the Squire's blends which I enjoy. It was a nice day to visit the metal box out next to the road.........

SG Cob Plug in the first briar I ever bought (about 20 years ago). It's a Viking Classic, and I have no idea if those are made any more, but it smokes really well for a cheap briar.View attachment 419469
I used to have a Viking Poker! I liked it a lot, and I passed it on to a friend who got interested in smoking. It was a great smoker, and I believe it is serving ole boy well to this day.

Enjoyed a way too short nap, and am a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2024 KBV Mr. Christian's Haunted Virginia in a straight, black sandblasted 1980s Comoy’s Mark-2 G * 6 (4) bulldog with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Running low on this mylar now. This will get me to dinner time. Braves-Nats game just started. Molly Danger snoozed by my side, and now that I'm back in my chair, it's Sleepy Suzy job. :)
