Smoking some Peter Heinrich Special Curly in my Peterson System Spigot rusticated 304. I got the pipe with the silver tarnished like that, and I’ve never polished it because of how much time this pipe spends in the front pocket of my shirt, and also because I am, in my heart of hearts, a lazy man.IMG_7119.jpeg

Almost a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. I was in the hall when I heard Molly Danger crying for attention, so I took her out of the bedroom and to the den. She ate a few bites of wet food, but what she really wanted was us. We both gave her a little play time, and she's looking around the den now.

Now smoking KBV Verge Engine Santa Drive 2023 in a 1978 Peterson Deluxe 20S medium bend smooth dark brown billiard with a silver cap military mount black vulcanite saddle p-lip stem. I brought Daisy the Feral Princess and Tomato the Brave in to eat their wet food. Tomato ate an average amount, and Daisy ate a small amount, which is not unusual. She used to eat more than she does now. I let Harry the Hairy in to eat once they finished, and when that happened, D&T went outside pretty quickly. Harry hung around for a couple of minutes, and then wanted out. Surprisingly, Molly Danger stayed in the den instead running to the bedroom as she always does. Sleepy Suzy didn't bother to open her eyes.

Enjoyed a tasty red delicious apple, and almost a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2018 Sutliff Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a 1982 smooth straight Dunhill Root Briar 31051 dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Going to check on the ferals soon.

I'm feeling better for cutting down on plastic packaged items and I'd like to see others do the same. I've got a reusable cup for take out drinks and I've given up plastic packeted biscuits, chocolate, crisps, sweets & tobacco, for life! Cutting down on the chips to save money, improve my health & reduce plastic packaging. I've definitely saved a lot of packaging! Made loaf of bread yesterday; picked some pears last night & making a crumble with them. Having another plastic free day today; life's better without plastic!
We could do with a deposit return scheme for bottles, cans etc in UK like Germany & Sweden etc; my online friends in Sweden say there's a lot less litter than in the UK.

Last smoke of the day is year 2015 D&R A.B. Rimboche in an undated slight bend, smooth flame grain Wessex Standard egg with a brown accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem. Fed Daisy the Feral Princess and Harry the Hairy outside. Tomato the Brave came in, ate wet food, thanked me as he always does, and then when on a chasing, kicking, biting spree with various toys. He went to the cardboard box and I had him chase and catch the rope until he wore down. Harry wanted in, but I left him out to eat to avoid conflict with Tomato.

It finally cooled down enough to sit out (literally middle of the night). 🌠

So, enjoying a cigar: Romeo y Julieta 1875 Reserve
And warm tea to drink: Da Hong Pao (大红袍) from China

Hey @MortarMessiah I can't wait to see this new pipe you're set to acquire, the one that seduced you into delaying your planned cigar purchase! (Assuming that all works out ...) Cheers mate! 😸
.
@Benedict Munsinger I really need to find and try this black Pu-erh tea you mentioned.

That's really awesome -- it's not easy to change our (bad) habits of convenience. I lived in Sweden for nearly 3 years (a few decades ago), and you're spot on -- they have a system where I'd buy a case of bottles (soda, juice, whatever) and I'd return the entire case of empties to the store, and replace it with full bottles for cheap. They re-use the glass bottles over and over, and pretty much everyone participated. It was just the way of life. 🇸🇪👍💙

Hello, fellow pipe smokers. I’ve just returned home from China, now sitting with a cup of Pu-erh (2007 vintage) and smoking my Sherlock Holmes Dark Smooth Lestrade P-Lip. I tried Mastro de Paja – Roma (blend of Virginia, Maryland, and Cavendish).
It’s a well-prepared mixture that burns evenly, but the natural tobacco taste is somewhat muted by the casing, so for those who enjoy pure Virginias and Burleys, it may feel overly sweet. Personally, that’s why it didn’t work for me — the topping dominates, and when puffed too fast, it can even bite. Overall, it feels more like a polished aromatic than a blend with true character.
