2018 C&D Redburn in a Savinelli 707. It’s been several years since I’ve opened this jar
Now smoking SPC Mississippi River in a 2003 medium bent Ural meer with a lined and etched egg shaped bowl with a silver band and a pearl brown acrylic saddle stem.
Scottish Flake in a BST smooth saddle Cumberland.
As much as I have been enjoying C&D's "Sun Bear Black Locust (2024)", virginia-based blends tend to bite me (they just don't agree with my mouth chemistry, though Sun Bear isn't as bitey as others for me), so I decided to pop my tin of "Dusk" to smoke every other day to give my tongue a break (though yes, I realize this is also VA-based, but it's heavily enough cut with burley to prevent bite for me, I hope).
I was sure from the description that I would like this, but I didn't anticipate how much I would like it. There's a subtle woody-sweetness like black coffee when you get the ratio just perfect (I mean that kind of sweetness, not that it tastes like coffee). Flavor profile to me is similar to if C&D OJK was VA-based rather than burley.

Burley Morning Pipe in an Altinay bent brandy, black coffee on the side. Its a perfectly crisp day for the first day of fall. Unfortunately summer-like temps return tomorrow.

Just finished smoking Ken Byron Ventures Jim’s Special Flake 2023 in a straight smooth medium brown year 1912 Henry Tongue billiard with a tapered amber stem and an orific bit. Ice water and bergs is my drink.
Now smoking Silent beta test in a medium bend 2001 Ural lattice Rhodesian with a yellow with white swirls acrylic saddle stem.
