So sorry to hear of your pup’s passing. We just had to lay our old dog Chewy down, it sucks man. Sending prayers up for you and yours, it is always hard to say goodbye.I was greatly comforted by my Saturday ZOOM pipe buddies as I recounted the sad passing of our beloved Thena, our 16-year-old Puggat (Pug/Rat Terrier). One of the other pipe friends also had to put down his Shepherd just yesterday. As we talked for a while about pets and their impact on us, I was calmed, heartened, and so thankful for this community of comrades.
We shifted our conversation to our more usual weekly chatter as I smoked a bowl of my "Dino's Balkan Blend" (2 parts 5100, 2 parts Syrian Latakia, 1 part McClelland's Oriental and 1 part D&R Yenidje) in my Rich Lewis rusticated calabash. My beverage was a berg-filled tumbler of Bai coconut water.
Again, the brothers and sisters of our pipe community are a wonderful and truly supportive group.
May God continue to bless you all.

For those that remember my depressing news from back in June, I've now got a job lined up for the day my layoff is finalized in October with my current job! Our house goes on the market 10/5 and we've bought a nice home that was built in '74 with about 7a of land. It's still in West TN but needs darn near a full gut and reno inside.
Positive things here are as follows:
- I'll be ~15min from my new job (which requires no major travel).
- New employer is on their 5th generation of family ownership and things like "you're not allowed to miss your kids games" or "you're entitled to a schedule that allowes you to attend church" being said at the interview make me feel great about the job.
- We're moving in with my sister-in-law while we renovate so no major headache or living expenses for a bit.
- Though I'm taking a significant pay cut, if we get what we're asking and keep the renovation on budget, we should be debt-free when all is said and done.
- We'll be a stone's throw away from my in-laws (who are amazing) so the kiddos stay close to their grands.
- This house has a small basement that my wife has assigned as my lounge so I won't be out on a comfortable place to smoke next summer/winter.
God is good, all the time! Even though the stress this summer has been heavy on our family, things are falling into line and it feels wonderful!
