Bizarro world we live in, that’s all I’ll say to not broach the “political post” rulehere in China you can smoke in the hotel without any issues, and in general there aren’t the same strict restrictions on smoking. For us pipe smokers, it feels like true freedom!![]()

Glad to hear of your recovery, and welcome back to the thread! Hopefully your tastebuds come fully online in time for that temperature drop!Heeeeeey, I'm back! Finally completely over (I think) my illness, and *finally* getting my tastebuds back online after a lot of meds, etc. I'll NEVER catch up on the 100+ pages of WAYS posts I missed. LOL
So, I'm easing back into things with a couple cigars the last few nights. Just need something easy right now.
Still waiting patiently for lower temps -- been mid-90s here in Texas during the day, and kind of muggy at night. We could use a nice 10-degree Fall drop!!

I get your point. But honestly, wherever you go, people mostly care about the same simple things — family, work, home. I’ve never felt it’s my place to tell another country how to live; I’m just a guest. China has its nuances, Thailand and Vietnam have theirs. What strikes me is how much propaganda works to paint so-called “unfriendly countries” in the darkest colors — often in ways that are outright dishonest.Bizarro world we live in, that’s all I’ll say to not broach the “political post” rule![]()
I would agree about people (general public) caring about similar things. It's not the people that's the issue. It's the bigger agendas that the people have no say over that aren't so friendly.I get your point. But honestly, wherever you go, people mostly care about the same simple things — family, work, home.
