Smoked a few bowls of pipe tobacco today as you'd expect. :) My off diet dinner was a rack and a half of baby backs ribs and a baked potato. Dessert was a little over a third of a freshly made Boston cream pie. I just finished smoking year 2018 D&R Raccoon’s Accent in a pre-WWII straight smooth brown The Lumberman Special (Comoy’s) with a tapered black vulcanite saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Enjoyed a fun interview this evening with my editor at Malibu Comics in the 1990s, host Roland Mann, and some Malibu co-workers, too. We talk about some aspects of my comics career and more, including a few minutes about pipe tobacco. Tomato the Brave makes a very short cameo. This interview runs just over an hour and a half.

I’m not a big fan of aromatics, but Boswell Hunter’s Choice turned out to be quite decent — smooth, restrained in flavor, and without that artificial edge you sometimes get. A classic Boswell style blend. In the US it’s reasonably priced, about the same as other Boswell aromatics, but outside the States the cost is noticeably higher, which makes it less common and not widely available. I smoked it in a Sherlock Holmes Dark Smooth Lestrade P-Lip (2010), and in that pipe the blend came through especially smooth.
