I need to smoke a couple more bowls of that one to make a decision. I just kinda feel Like there are alot of other blends that do the same thing better. But one bowl is not enough to really judge. It didn’t click for me on the first bowl like some blends do.
In my opinion it’s a good strong red Va/perique that you know what you’re getting every time. It’s not a top shelf complex blend to wax poetically about, but it’s a great tool for the job when the job is a VaPer that’s readily available, satisfying, and leaving you knowing you just had a smoke😉

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, haddock and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I've about a third of a bowl left of year 2015 Mac Baren Virginia #1 in a pre-1923 smooth dark brown early Comoy’s Prior (Gros, Grenier, Ostero & Cie.) pot with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Braves-Astros game. Daisy the Feral Princess came in to eat, and after spending time on m'lady's lap, she decided to spend time on my lap before she went out. I took a box and put it up to see how the cats would react to it. Sleepy Suzy approves. I'm sure Tomato the Brave will love it when he comes in the next time.

Been chilly all week, so I was all too eager to bundle up (or at least the SoCal equivalent) and enjoy Mac Baren Symphony in my burley pipe, a Savinelli Porto Cervo 122 rusticated bent pot. Like a ready rubbed version of their Navy Flake, but a little sweeter. 9/10

Bird report: House finch, Northern flicker, California scrub-jay, California towhee, American crow, Red-tailed hawk, Mountain chickadee, White-breasted nuthatch, Steller's jay, California quail, Dark-eyed junco, Anna's hummingbird, and Western bluebird.

Bring on autumn, I say! 🍁

Now smoking year 2012 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad.

I thought that pipe was meerschaum-lined for a moment! Lovely stain on such a light base
