Getting ready to watch the broadcast of UFC Fight Night 259, Diego Lopes vs. Jean Silva (also known as Noche UFC 3 and UFC on ESPN+ 117), taking place at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. Having Newminster No. 400 Superior Navy Flake in a Comoy’s Specimen Freehand (possibly carved by Horry Jameson in the 1960s or 1970s; this style of foot was a design device he often used on GBD Unique pipes—but potentially attributing this pipe to him would depend on when this pipe was made—the logo in the stem is a “three-piece C,” which dates the pipe no later than the ’80s). It has the numbers 77 008 stamped on the right side of the shank—I’m not sure if this is a model number, date number, or serial number (or combo). I suspect the original tenon was modified at some point to the current 9mm filter tenon, so there’s no way of establishing a date range based on the original tenon shape.

Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and have passed the last third of this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Coffee from a freshly opened bag of Gold Star Jamaica Blue Mountain Dark Roast, neat, is my drink. Watching the Orioles-Jays game.

Milan Black and Gold in a Rattray's Fachen #106 Bent Billard with a glass of iced water. This pipe was originally "Hulk Green", both stem and stummel. It had a little build up on the rim, decided to use a sponge and water to remove the dark spot. Turns out, the sponge was a Magic Eraser and took the green off. It's now apparent that it wasn't a build up, was just a lack of finish. I took off the rest of the green recently and will leave it bare to let it finish with time and use.

Part way through this bowl of KBV Moon Safari beta in a 2003 medium bent Ural meer with a lined and etched egg shaped bowl with a silver band and a pearl brown acrylic saddle stem. Writing beta notes as I watch the ball game. Cleaned a few pipes earlier. All the cats are where they were since my last post.
