Just finished smoking year 2020 Pfeifen Huber Virginia Golden Flake in a 1938 smooth straight brown patent Dunhill R 115 bowling ball apple with a tapered cumberland stem. When I took out the recycle, Tomato the Brave was laying on my car. I paid him a little attention, and then took care of the recycle. When I came back up the driveway, Harry the Hairy jumped on the roof of my car and seeing how well that worked for Tomato, he wanted attention, too. I gave scratching and rubbing to the fella, and left him very happy.

Again, thanks for the kind words. My wife is plugging along, but texted me that one of her best friends, who was an instrumental mentor during the wife’s early recovery, was delivering an RV to Tucson today and is gonna come by, cook us dinner, and spend the night.
Just what the Dr ordered, so to speak, the timing of which made me ponder, “is it odd, or is it god”?

Feeding the horses because the horizon to the east looks like my last night on call this week may produce a call out.
Fribourg and Treyer BlackJack, nicely aged, in a little Eire System 31 before dinner.

Sorry to hear about your Father in-law man. Hope your wife is holding up well. This hits home for me.

Now smoking year 2019 C&D Yorktown in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Terracotta 4AB No.108/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. I found out that I got a UPS package earlier, but didn't know it until a couple of minutes ago. When I opened the front door, Tomato the Brave was laying by the package. He occasionally camps out there. I let him in and he's playing with the rope as I type. Daisy the Feral Princess is cradling a catnip sock, and watching Tomato act like a maniac.

Thank you! I waited a while for the right one to present itself… out of the mists of the Night! *dracula voice* Ah!

And while we’re at it, I, for one, love the setting of the fencepost-and-field that you have selected for so many of your pipe photos. Pretty much as good as it gets right there.
Thank you as well. I’ve worked my entire life for it. 😁

Trying a new blend out of the Peterson Junior nickel-mounted lovat - a real nice fishtail mouthpiece in terms of Petersons. The blend is something I tried after a little oriental silk on its own didn’t do it for me (I am saving some for a few months to try again, not giving up on it yet). I blended the oriental silk with some C&D long cut Perique and rubbed out C&D Virginia Flake, and after sitting with itself for about a week there is some serious buttery nutty light sweet action going on that is very much doing it for me tonight.IMG_6968.jpeg

Jim, I just love that ebony pipe. So dignified looking.
Speaking of dignified..... Daisy looks like she is far too dignified to indulge in foolish catnip sock play. She had rather sit back and watch Tomato look goofy.... ;)
I agree about the ebony 4AB. I wasn't going to get it at first, but the day when I had the chance to, luck came my way. That very afternoon while I was on the phone with Shane Ireland, a tax refund came in the mail. I told my wife while I was on the phone, and her comment was "Buy the Ebony!" Shane was laughing at all of this, and I know he was happy that I was able to get the complete set of 4ABs. As it turned out, they came on my birthday, and most of them were bought as birthday presents for me.

Oh, Daisy the Feral Princess has had her moments with a catnip sock, but she's not as aggressively loony like Tomato the Brave is with it. She's more low key in general.

Trying something new, I cracked in to a Mac Baren made tin of Three Nuns tonight. Savinelli Trevi Prince. About halfway through, I fell like it's a pretty nice smoke. Smooth sweet Virginias on a Burley base with a touch of barbequey Kentucky meandering through. I never had the original which I hear was more legendary but I find it's a pleasant smoke.

Scrollling through, I spotted the knife and suddenly thought “wow, that one is a little out of ashdigger’s usual style”😉

Earlier, I smoked a bowl of KBV Verge Engine Santa Drive 2023 in a 1978 Peterson Deluxe 20S medium bend smooth dark brown billiard with a silver cap military mount black vulcanite saddle p-lip stem.

Currently, I have a third of a bowl left of year 2021 unreleased Sutliff Black Virginia Flake in a late 80's, early 90s James Upshall P DS Tilshead England Made By Hand L185 Canadian with a silver band and a tapered black vulcanite stem. Tomato the Brave came in to eat, and decided to have a bunch of fun with a rope. I took a bunch of pics, but can't post but a few at a time.

His expression in that last pic truly had me laughing out loud! What an entertainer he is!
