Today's Smoke: Just having dinner now - time for a quick smoke post before going back to the apple grinder. One pipe today, mid-morning as an apple break. My most recent Ropp purchase, about 4 months ago I think, the Ropp J06. Now broken in, and the quest begins for the perfect fit. Began today with a nice aromatic, TobaccoBarn's Cimmeron. Full flavoured, with a touch of Vanilla. About 40 minutes or so, what I expected. Will give the pipe a break for a few days and try something else.

Outdoor break about two hours later, a Kwiki Chocolate cigar. Nice. Will post and try to do some catchup review at dusk. A tiny Skippable Drivel below the pic.

Skippable Drivel: I've received several comments on my outdoor use of empty 35mm film canisters for tobacco. They're excellent, and have an advantage of being super easy to load. No tray necessary . . . .

Simply wrap your hand around the pipe, and use your thumb and fingers as a funnel. The Ropp J06 is great for this because of its large bowl and shallow shape, but I use this technique for all of my travel pipes, and sometimes indoors now if loading from a jar if the pipe suits. Hardly ever spill anything, and if I do, it's almost not worth picking up.
Cheers 'till dusk.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, orange roughy and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm a quarter of the way through this bowl of year 2020 Pfeifen Huber Virginia Golden Flake in a 1938 smooth straight brown patent Dunhill R 115 bowling ball apple with a tapered cumberland stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Braves-Cubs game with Sleepy Suzy by my side. Molly Danger is on m'lady's lap. The ferals are outside and fed. No funny stories so far today, but they seldom let me down on that score.
