Just finished smoking KBV Jupiter Slices 7.1 in a post-1938 Pre-Republic Peterson Dublin straight smooth X155 bulldog with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem. Nigel Bruce smoked this model in two Sherlock Holmes movies. Please consider asking Shane Ireland at Smoking Pipes and Peterson to bring the pipe back into production.

It was the prettiest early Fall day I can remember in Anchorage. In keeping with the Kaywoodie bulldog theme, I enjoyed an hour with a cherry version of Three Friars in a 2019 Kaywoodie smooth unbeaded bulldog up in my backyard treehouse.

Hey pipers, man I'm way behind after suddenly coming down with something fierce last Tuesday night and am still out of commission. 🤕 🤒 Even had 104+ temps at one point, which I've never had before. Short story is I got hit hard, I guess a virus, and am still very low. I've really missed keeping up with the forum, and I'll be back -- let that be a promise and a warning! 😸

Def not ready for piping yet (not even close), dang that could be another week, who knows? Anyway, just checking in! Always learn a lot from the forum, so need to catch up a bit. Here's what's keeping me sustained:

Near the first quarter of this bowl of year 2016 Sutliff 507-C Slices in a sandblasted medium bend 1950s Reuben era Charatan Deluxe 11 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Harry the Hairy got a little play time, and then wanted out. The others are out as well.

Finished all pressing ranch chores, snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in Scrabble vs. wifey, and now enjoying a bowl of C&D Opening Night in a Peterson Irish Harp 80s sandblasted bent bulldog while the victor is out on a trail ride. We're already getting into the 40s at night here in the SoCal mountains, but today looks to be the last summer-like day for a while. FYI to all the newer folks mourning any of the losses of certain straight VA blends lately, this is an excellent spot filler. 9/10

Bird report: California towhee, House finch, California scrub-jay, American crow, Steller's jay, Hairy woodpecker, Mountain chickadee. Mourning dove, California quail, White-breasted nuthatch, Red-tailed hawk, and Western bluebird.

The first cool night out on the deck.
Dinner was mozzarella, garden tomatoes, basil and local cider.

Spent the day removing the last of two large trees that came down and n the back yard in late winter, a walnut and a hickory. Couldn’t bear to leave them until next year! Hickory was completely rotted, it had been standing dead for several years. A friend is turning the walnut into gunstocks and kitchen cabinets.

The Raven’s Wing is rich and smooth, the king of experience that only comes with time. Still very floral and packed with that wonderful evergreen essence. Syrian? Don’t know.
