Just handled my business and had a big bowl of menudo while i was at it. Time to simmer down with a bowl of 2009 VA #1 in an HS Pipe Studio pencil shanked bamboo billiard. The stain on this is deep purple, but it's only noticeable with flash or in direct sunlight. Otherwise, you'd think it was black. I'm not into the purple and if it bothers me to smoke it outside in the sun i may turn this one into a re-stain project in the future. Sure smokes VAs well, though.

My first bowl of Per G. Jensen Burley In the shop today. Too soon to tell but so far so good. Seems to be a rubbed out flake, a real flake IMO and not one of those pressed ribbon and sliced flake. Seems very high quality.

It’s a comfortable pipe and being a 4 it’s easy to hold and sits anywhere.
Grab one when you can and it might swing you into one.

Thanks. I stained it myself with Fiebing's leather dye. I had a bag of seven day seconds and had a good time trying different stains and techniques.

Did a set of walking reps, and smoked a bowl of year 2015 D&R A.B. Rimboche in an undated slight bend, smooth flame grain Wessex Standard egg with a brown accent on the black vulcanite saddle stem.


Currently, I am close to finishing this bowl of year 2020 C&D Virginia Flake in a straight medium brown 1922-1937 Irish Free State era Peterson 222 bullcap with a sterling silver band and a tapered black vulcanite p-lip stem.
