Merry Monk in a 1960 Dunhill group 2. I’ve been on a kick lately with this blend. This blend tastes like smokey-sweet plums. The nicotine is great. At first, I didn’t really care for the blend as much as I do. It was more of a change of pace Latakia blend, which it is as it’s unique. This really is one of the most unique English blends I have in the stable. I have evolved with this blend and find it one of the harder to get blends of the GL Pease lineup. Pease is known for blends that take a while to fully understand. It’s one of the best blends I have for a quick, powerful small bowl.
An old Willard pipe that belonged to my father who smoked it for decades. I am smoking a blend I call 88s - a base of several Virginias followed by Turkish and burley with a hint of cherry.After about of week of setting in the humidor, the blend is starting to show its true taste. I'll be making some changes to it - the burley will become white burley, there will be the addition of some smyrna to the Turkish, and a hint of Maryland to help keep it cool and burn slowly.

Juan; I am guessing your high winds don't include dust and ash from California fires falling to the ground like snow, LOL. California is a Smoker's Paradise (pun on purpose). I recall some days seeing white ash come down from the skies like snow on a midwestern winter. Still, here in the Colorado River Desert Valleys, we have blue skies, mostly protected by the 360 degrees of mountain chains that encircle the Coachella Valley and leave Palm Springs with blue skies 350 days a year. The Caliente Latinas keep asking about you. They tell me to assure you that there will be no Moors to hock your pipes or try to sell you broken watches when you visit. Only endless autumn nights dancing in the clubs and drinking margaritas while gorging on fajitas, enchiladas, and endless bowls of Chile Verde.

Sometimes I have been able to watch on television, the devastating fires in California, which really sadden me a lot. I remember the fires in Canada, or Alaska, I don't remember well. The ashes reached Spain, I think Galicia. Here, it has been a miracle, there were hardly any fires, Galicia has been protected by some rains. As for the south of Spain, there are hardly any trees, so it is difficult to have important fires. I hope that the drones of today, the fires are more controlled, with prevention. Damn, I dream of those parties, of cocktails, and tight girls, like the nuts of a nuclear submarine. Let her know that Juanita Banana misses them very much. I pray for them. Damn it my stamp.

Once my son moves out of our Casita, it will once again be open for visitors. I can assure you only the best memorable times. For now, you will have only future visions of nights drinking rum concoctions surrounded by Palm Trees and Polynesian decor in our fine selection of some of the best Tiki restaurants in the nation. We will follow this up with steak dinners at outstanding American Steakhouses - but at night, we will visit the Mexican Hacienda/Ranchero style restaurants, enjoying the finest Mexican food available in the lower 48. Tequila will become your best friend. Of course, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and all the trappings of our fine beaches and Marinas is only a short drive away. And if you have time, we can take motorcycles up Highway 1 and drive up to San Francisco. And since you have your passport, the Mexican boarder is also a hop, skip, and jump away as well. As for as the Latinas. Brace yourself. We can visit the Latin clubs where the music is punctuated by the sound of Mariachi and Narcocorrido - it will get you on your feet and dancing wildly about the dance floor. Everyone is always happy and your mouth will hurt from so much grinning. Here, you will experience the best of Spanish/Mexican culture we have to offer. And best of all, you won't need a translator. But watch out - your only sadness will be you won't be able to take the beautiful long haired Latinas with their beautiful dark brown eyes back home with you to Spain. They rarely travel very far... As the father of one of these girls, I can assure you it is for the best. Their latin temperament does not come with long term benefits, LOL.

A GBD Virgin won in a pipe smoking contest back in the 80s. That was how I generally obtained many of my better pipes back then when I had little spending money and was a poor struggling teacher. 88s my newest blend is coming together nicely.
