Happy Labor Day! Made about 5 quarts of soup for the freezer, hit the treadmill hard to exorcise my exercise of excess over the weekend, and put a chicken in some brine in preparation for roasting this evening. I have some frozen mashed potatoes, so I don’t need to worry about making those, but I’ll need to make some gravy. Luckily I’ve got a bunch of homemade stock in the freezer for that.

Nightcap in a comically large Peterson 307. Found this pipe at an antique store earlier this year. Looked barely smoked. Cleaned it up a bit and looks like new.
