Wifey has gone out on the horse, so now's the time for me to clean up the ranch and batten down the hatches. Temperature is in the process of dropping precipitously, and we actually have a chance of snow tonight. In mid-September. Yeah, I wouldn't have believed it myself, but it's pretty nippy already, and the clouds are forming in earnest. Still, I way prefer this to what summer has to offer, and I'll certainly be enjoying the small post-chore bowl of Savinelli 140th Anniversary currently drying (in the Foyard Rhodesian, of course) after it's finished.

Bird report: House finch, California towhee, Dark-eyed junco, Steller's jay, American crow, California scrub-jay, Lesser goldfinch, Oak titmouse, White-breasted nuthatch, and Mourning dove.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, porterhouse steak, sweet corn and mashed potatoes dinner with a big banana split for dessert. I'm smoking a bowl from a freshly opened pack of year 2015 Sir Walter Raleigh in a black 1997 Brebbia Jubilee 925 silver banded grain sandblast briar calabash with a tapered black acrylic stem. It's too humid for coffee tonight, so ice water and bergs is my drink.
