I’ve only had the one this morning, and I think I like the two better on their own-to me the the tannic quality of the 515 clashes with the sweetness of the 507.Great to see you again. What is your take on the 515/507 mix? I am struggling to figure out what to add to it so as to create a more full experience. Currently Ives adds a small amount of Turkish, burley, and a small hint of cherry.
I've added some green river Cavendish this morning - to the already oriental and burley that was added, and it filled out quite a bit. The issue I have with 515 is that I am one of those who gets a tin tasting tongue from it. Yet, I like the 515 quite a bit and have a large amount of it. So, my only route is to find a way to mix it with a blend where I can enjoy it and not get the tin taste afterwards.I’ve only had the one this morning, and I think I like the two better on their own-to me the the tannic quality of the 515 clashes with the sweetness of the 507.
After reading your post, I mixed a pinch of Five Brothers into the mix-I can tell you this doesn’t smooth anything out! No bueno.

Lately I’ve been eyeballing it but I’d say my current ratio is 5 Brothers/3 Sails 2/1.I see that several people have posted smoking the 3 Sails/5 Bros mix lately. It is becoming my most smoked blend. I'm finding 3/1 tastes good and is repeatable for me. Do you have a favorite mix ratio?
