SEPT's arrived (!!!). So fantastic (!!!) ... applause & cheers called for.
Cooler weather will usher in more hearty meals. Tomorrow, Labor Day, will see a Salmon Potato Corn stew come out of my kitchen. Tomorrow night will see Steak & Baked Potato dinner.

First tobacco = mixed up a half tin of Mac Baren Plumcake with about 20% Perique & about 5% Latakia.
Cleaned & readied 4 pipes to start off the month:
-- a MM Apple Diplomat (bent)
-- a Stanwell Vario 63M
-- a Vintage 91 Canadian, made in London & restored by the very honorable Steve Laug (rebornpipes), who suspected it might have been made by Charatan
-- and a Butz Choquin Granada Rhodesian 1025, always a fine smoking pipe

Each pipe will get to taste the Plumcake mixture. Will load them all up for a chance to sit over couple days, which will benefit the Plumcake itself. Some DGT'ing will be in the works as well.

PS LBF (fresh) in a Peterson POY 2024. This may end up being a Va and Va/(mild)Per pipe as the few I have smoked in it so far really sing and it delivers a depth of flavor.

Close to finishing this bowl of year 2020 D&R Raccoon’s Friend in a pre-1980s straight dark brown Comoy's Sandblast 186 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Braves and Phillies are tied in the 11th. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.

My final smoke of the day, 2019 Hu Zulu. This is the only Lat bomb that I enjoy. All the other ones over 60% are harsh and one dimensional to me. Zulu is the opposite of that. This blend is like smoking a steak.

This evening I decided to have another bowl of G.L. Pease Embarcadero, but this time in a briar pipe, a Crown Jewel pot. Yup it was as enjoyable as my first bowl yesterday, so this could become a regular blend for me.
