Today I thought I would switch things up a bit with my tobacco as opposed to my wife! After all the posts on 5' inch pipes I was inspired to bring out this fellow from the 1860s. It has something about its age and provenance scratched on the bowl. The original stem was amber but sadly shattered into a thousand pieces when I dropped the pipe about six years ago. I never realized the stem was amber until Rick from Briarville told me about the smell of eucalyptus he experienced grinding out the broken stem stub. My smoke for the afternoon is S&G brown twist from the year 2000 from the late @weezel's stash that has been sitting in a jar in one of my tobacco cabinets so given the heat I thought 'why not'! Enjoy your afternoon.

SH&Co. Squadron Leader special edition with Perique, definitely my last full bowl. Next I'll have to mix the last leaf and powder with something else for the last delightful whiffs. In the Caminetto Hawkbill that I won in the veterans limerick contest sponsored by a member here last year, I believe it was.

Wrestling with getting a car we seldom drive inspected so I can pay the registration and property tax. I had to jump start it, so I have to run it 200 miles to boot the computer to do the inspection. Now the gas cap door cable doesn't work, so I'll have to take it to the dealer to have that repaired on what gas is left. It's a full time job.

And I thought retirement was going to be all about deciding whether to read a book or take a walk. Huh! How did I ever have time to hold a job?

This Squadron Leader is a nice respite. It's quite a blend.

Enjoyed a tasty salad, two plates of spaghetti and meat balls topped with sharp cheddar cheese, and a big slice of pecan pie and vanilla bean ice cream for dessert. I'm just passing the half way mark on this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Larry's Espresso #9, neat, is my drink. I could only do one off-diet meal today, so I chose lunch as I often do. Great way to start the day.
