I had to look up "Russian Caravan tea", but I think it would be right up my alley, since I've enjoyed Lapsang Souchong for a long time.Smoking some more Telegraph Hill and enjoying some milky Russian Caravan Tea, ever present Castello is my pipe.

Hello my fellow north carolinian Im ready to find that S.Leader with perique !Getting to the bottom of this tin of SG&Co Squadron Leader special edition with Perique, in a Peterson B11 bent brandy sitter with a smooth finish and grain that has deepened in contrast and visibility over the twelve or so years I've owned it. This was a modestly priced version of this excellent sitter shape and the grain looks far better now than it did when I bought it. Anyone else had that experience with a pipe?
I'm tempted to seek to order another tin of this blend, but I have so many others waiting in the wings, a great selection of really choice blends, that it may be a while to repeat this experience -- maybe for next summer.
It's still hot, pushing 100 F here in central N.C. I'm running my wife's little Toyota manual shift around town after jump starting it, to get the computer re-set so I can get the car inspected to pay the registration fee and property tax. It takes about 200 miles to reset. It's a chore, but I'm enjoying driving manual shift again, which I did for more than thirty years
The topping is European absinthe. There's no coconut in the mix.KBV Van Gogh in the Pete Walnut Spigot.
Anyone know what this blend is comprised of? I swear I get a coconut flavor on first light.

Back in the day when this tea was transported by Yak across the Silk Road and the Himalayas the journey was long and the tea was packed in hessian sacks. Tea is very hydroscopic and this slow trip (up to a year), plus all the stops, camps, dung fires et al, plus the elevation gained and lost through out the journey gave it a very unique quality as it took on all the flavours and smells of the trip. I get mine from a master tea blender here in Tasmania who also has very small and bespoke tea house and she blends a tea that is very close to the original, strong with campfire notes and a deep underlying sweetness. It's supposed to be consumed with Yak milk which also adds to the overall experience. I've had the real thing when visiting the Steppes of Mongolia out near the Gobi Desert. Here is what it looks like.I had to look up "Russian Caravan tea", but I think it would be right up my alley, since I've enjoyed Lapsang Souchong for a long time.
That actually makes more sense..The topping is European absinthe. There's no coconut in the mix.
That is a beautiful pipe!Bayou Morning x BriarWorks billiard
