I’m finishing up some Merde de Cheval in the black leather bent Longchamp after a bowl of Bengal Slices in the lizard skin LC. I can’t seem to get enough Latakia at the moment.
It’s been pissing down all evening here but it’s nice to listen to the rain falling on the ferns and ivy in the garden and ringing on the Tibetan prayer bells. Last smoke of the evening will be Germain’s 1820 Mix in this Vauen Luxus Churchwarden with p-lip, big bowl and beautifully worked stem. The crude stand is a DIY job. image.jpg

I’m smoking Gawith Hoggarth & Co. Louisiana Flake in a MM Diamond Dagner Poker, with sweet tea to sip on. This blend is quickly becoming a favorite.

Do you only smoke Cobs? All your posts I’ve seen, you’re smoking all these nice blends in Cobs. Hmm

I’ve only smoked out of 5-7 cobs, I have a regular Dagner too, these are the three I own at the moment.

Last night I decided to give up smoking my Cobs, when I was smoking out of the Dagner, Ken Byron Ventures The Patience of Dr. Silence. There was hardly any flavor, and this blend in a nice briar is amazing. The flavor in Cobs for me has never been as rich, everything is always lighter tasting in a Cob, almost closer to everything turning out more like an Aromatic very light and not full of much flavor.

I’ve never smoked any Cob that ever delivered the quality of flavor and all the nuances and tastes that a Briar does.

Anyhow...

By the way, hope you’re doing ok, since the passing of your buddy!

Be well! ?

A half-bowl of C&D The Beast in a Savinelli Miele 611 KS bent dublin (too cold for a full smoke in a KS pipe). I made sure not to take 666 puffs. Bird report: Northern flicker, California scrub-jay, Steller's jay, White-breasted nuthatch, House finch, Common raven, Hairy woodpecker, California towhee, Dark-eyed junco, and the first White-crowned sparrows of the season!

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, tuna steaks and asparagus dinner with a small scoop of French vanilla ice cream. I've about a third of a bowl left of year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Watching the Braves-Phillies game.
