Interesting to think that the original pipes smoked in the UK - before clay pipes were produced from circa 1555 - were hollowed out acorns with reed stems . . . a homage to this early pipe seen in clays particularly in the Victorian era:-

Just finished smoking the last of this sample of year 1997 McClelland Christmas Cheer in a 1980 Stanwell 668 medium bend with a multi-colored ferrule, half black sandblasted, half brown smooth, rough top with a black vulcanite stem.
Now smoking KBV Your Welcome in a straight smooth dark brown 1930s (Comoy’s) Canadian Club 230 eight paneled billiard with a black tapered vulcanite stem. This relatively short smoke should get me to dinner time.

Earlier today during a work call, had a bowl of LA’s Tobacco Traders Bright Virginia — a late summer send off — in a sandblast Viking Dublin. The call switched 5 minutes in to a Zoom and I had to tell people I wasn’t Zoom ready so I kept my camera off.

I've about a quarter of a bowl left of year 2013 Dunhill Flake in a straight smooth 1960 Dunhill DRA 137 group 4 root briar canted dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink.
