It’s been a quiet morning so far and I’m spending this part of it with Three Friars in a Peterson's Dublin & London 155. I suppose I’m going to have to address the question of the grass length today, but I’d rather leave it unanswered for a while longer.

Just finished smoking Jim's Va/Bur in the first pipe Trever Talbot made when he went to France many years ago. It's a smooth straight Algerian briar Billiard bowl with a long Canadian acrylic stem, unbranded.

I received this Iwan Ries Danish Pickaxe the other day, Salt-bath and Retort done and I figure its time to load some Black Frigate and try her out

BSOSM Match in a Larrysson rusticated straight billiard
I'm not big on anniversaries of negative events. 9/11 was a life changing moment for me, as was Katrina, as were the recent floods. I pray often for the victims and their families but I'd rather not celebrate the day. Many more are killed each year on our own streets. Let us focus on changing our school systems and give some hope where there is little hope to go around.

We will honor all of those taken from us senselessly by creating a world that's better than we left it

Grab your iron and a box o’ lead, boys! You’re all deputized! An abandoned novelty post done rode back into town and there’s gonna be trouble! It’s the weekly pipes ‘n’ pulp post and it’s brought with it an Ozark from Mizzurah, that Sutliff boy, Breckinridge, and what’s worse, that notorious outlaw varmint, Sonny Tabor! So kiss your wives, hug your daughters, and give the boys a scruff on the head, because we ain’t all comin’ home tonight.
