Relaxing after a wonderful salad, chicken legs and green beans dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm half way through this bowl of year 2014 Full Virginia Flake in a straight smooth brown Algerian briar post-war 1940s family era Barling’s Make Ye Olde Wood 238 T.V.F. Made in England EXEL pot with a tapered black ebonite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. First time smoking this pipe. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. All the ferals ate well, and Daisy the Feral Princess stayed in. Watching the World Series.

Probably no one "anal retentive" enough (other than myself) to notice that this month, we topped 4,000 posts!!!

Of course, that and five dollars with get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.....

And, our own @PaulRVA was the lucky poster to hit the magic number. And how appropriate that it was that beautiful Altinay Meer of his.....
Paul will be receiving the keys to the new Corvette that he won, in just a few days....

I now return you to your regular network programming.

Oh, almost forgot. I had an E. P. Carillo, Maduro while doing barn chores.....

This post deserved a double emoticon rating, but unfortunately I seem to be able to do this only on personal replies. So here it is! and a triple at that! 😍:ROFLMAO::col:

I'm pretty attentive, but nope, didn't notice the 4000 thing! Bravo!!!

Ya know, I've noticed some real oddballs lately. So I'm going to institute a new category, but so as not to infringe on Kewpie Doll territory, it'll be a weekly event only . . .

Keep on Lurking - soon you'll be part of the furniture.

You now have the inaugeral "Gord's Oddball of the Week"👍👍

Congratulations! Hope this will inspire the gentry to bring forth their personal travesties. Seems to fit in with the 4000 post month, too!

2025 From Beyond in an MM The General

View attachment 427146

From Beyond arrived on Monday, but life has been too busy to try it. I knew I'd want a nice, long smoke, so I brought out The General (I don't need one of those new pub pipes. I don't need one of those new pub pipes.) and loaded it up. I smoked some 2023 From Beyond last week to compare. The 2023 version is very good, but I'm pretty sure that I'm going to love this one more. From first light it immediately seems more fragrant, more flavorful, spicier than the previous version. Occasionally I wonder whether it can really be this delicious, or am I imagining it? But no: it really is that good.

I think you do need one of those new pub pipes. I think you do need one of those new pub pipes.

A small flake of Sutliff 507-C in the Pete Pub pipe while pondering the pub pipe itself. It seems almost impossible to smoke this pipe wrongly; the tobacco lasts forever and there is so much airflow its perfect for slow sipping. I wonder if it might not be the perfect pipe for a beginner or whether it should be reserved for the more experienced smoker who finally gets it ? This is what I pondered while puffing. I think it may take several more bowls to reach and satisfactory resolution. ;) I was also pondering whether the Pub pipe is the perfect evolution of the pipe itself ??? 🤔

Passing the quarter mark of this bowl from a freshly opened tin of year 2014 Orlik Golden Sliced in a straight dark plum and brown octagonal paneled late 60s-early 70s Barling T.V.F. Made in England billiard 5 Quaint with a tapered black vulcanite stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. First time smoking this pipe. Cleaned the last four pipes I smoked earlier.

Had a parfait of 2016 C&D Bayou Morning with Rattray Dark Fragrant in a Bones Big Bent Apple. Smoked to the bottom on one light and left little moisture, but I could’ve used a little more sweetness in the bowl. Bayou Morn is just too “dry” for my taste. However, the medium nic kick was nice. Followed with a bowl of Maple Shadows II in an MM Country Gent, which scratched the sweet itch. No pic of that smoke.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am half way through this bowl from a freshly opened tin of year 2014 Sam Gawith Best Brown Flake in a straight smooth brown undated Carmignani Roma Canadian made by Fritz Becker with a silver band and a tapered black acrylic stem. This pipe is from the estate of David Cuneo. First time smoking this pipe and one that David had that I really coveted. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Tomato the Brave was late for his wet food time, but he showed up, ate plenty, and is in the cardboard box right now. I had to dry him off since it's still raining. Dunno why because he has enough places to stay out of the rain, but Tomato was never known for his intelligence. ;)
