Capped off a hectic workweek (I know, department of redundancy department) and celebrated a half-birthday in one fell swoop with #2 in my sample pack from @Goblin_Walrus , C&D Dawn XXV in my non-lat non-aromatic pipe, a Stefano Santambrogio smooth bent Rhodesian. Tried drying it slightly less than I'm normally inclined, and I'm glad I did...fantastic smoke! 9/10

Bird report: House finch, California scrub-jay, Dark-eyed junco, Steller's jay, White-crowned sparrow, Chipping sparrow, Northern flicker, Band-tailed pigeon, California towhee, Oak titmouse, Mountain chickadee, White-breasted nuthatch, American crow, Red-tailed hawk, California quail, Hairy woodpecker, Western bluebird, Spotted towhee, and American robin. A full cast for sure.

Homemade chicken soup on the docket, followed by lots of Shabbat rest. Hope to see some of you at the pipe zoom on Sunday. Unfortunately for you, I will be there. 😁

I can live with this blend being discontinued.

Good choice, I have found that the XXV Twins smoke really nicely straight out of the container.
Red tailed hawk represent! I love those dang birds.

Wow..... great story and thanks for the link.
Isn't Mena in west Arkansas, near the Oklahoma line???
Yes, I bet they do get teary eyed. A tree like that is like the old Patriarch of a family. It is so sad to see one go.....

Thanks for sharing.
Yes. It is 85 miles south of ft smith and 15 miles from the Oklahoma state line

Passing the half way mark of this bowl of year 2019 C&D Yorktown in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Terracotta 4AB No.108/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Daisy the Feral Princess spent the last hour on my lap until she got hungry.

I got a generous sample of Dawn and Dusk from a most gracious member. The funny thing is I thought Dusk would’ve been my preference, but C&D killed it with the XXV Dawn.
Really wish I’d gotten in on the buy.

@ashdigger Man it is like you are on the road every day for investigations! How big an area do you cover? And what percentage is 'nature' vs dumb humans vs arson?

The three states I operate in are NV, AZ and UT.

I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and have investigated roughly 5,000 fires.

Of those, Homeowner arson is about 15

Scumbag arson is roughly 40

People that zig when they should zag is about 80% of the rest.
