I had the first bowl in another home-made corn cob pipe. It’s the shorter pot-shaped one on the bottom with the cork in it. There’s about two grams of a ribbon cut burley cherry aromatic under the cork. I really like the way the taller version smokes and wanted to experiment with a shorter, wider bowl that held the same volume of tobacco. There wasn’t much of a difference between the two, but I’ll run a few more blends through the pot before any conclusions can be made.

Today marks my 42nd trip around the Sun. To celebrate, I went out for a breakfast with my father and my son and had a great time.

On the menu for my first smoke of the day was a bowl of KBV Van Gogh loaded in my birth year Stanwell POTY (1983) with an iced Americano on the side.

Afterwards, I enjoyed a bowl of CAO Moontrance that was gifted to me by a few colleagues from work loaded in my Canadian Club Pot.

Back home from our cruise, had a lovely time and enjoyed a  mostly phone-free vacation. Had to take it out once as I was instructed to keep up with my brother-in-law while we were in Mexico. He wanted to go tequila tasting and stay out later than the rest of the family so I hung with him. Snapped a great pic with my wife while we were walking off the ship though!

I had a lot of fun interactions with people on the ship being a pipe smoker. One woman even told me she'd never seen someone so young smoke like such an old man. 🤣 I did thoroughly enjoy sharing a bowl each evening with my B-I-L and F-I-L after dinner and shows too. My father-in-law also found a new cigar he enjoys after getting some pretty nasty tongue bite mid-week. He defaulted to Arturo Fuente Cubanitos after that realizing his cobs and aeromatics were a hot mix on deck.

If anyone is ever considering Harmony of the Seas, make sure you reserve seats for "The Fine Line", after 8 cruises with Royal Caribbean, that was, by far, the best show we've ever seen on a ship! Here's a video of it but, the experience in-person was worth the whole dang cruise. Such awesome music, dancing with interesting blends of effects and some awesome acrobatics both in and out of the water ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Went back to work today and things are still meh. 9 working days left here and I start the new gig though! Spoke with my new employer today and worked out scheduling for onboarding come November.

Tonight, I'm finishing this bowl of Harbour Dreams in my C22 that was started earlier at kiddos soccer practice.

Relaxing after a wonderful small salad, big porterhouse steak with black beans over rice topped with Monterrey Jack Cheese. I had one slice left of the Frittata from this afternoon, and ate that, too. Dessert was a small bowl of vanilla bean ice cream. I'm part way through this bowl of year 2013 Capstan Blue Flake in a 2015 Ryan Alden quarter bend burgundy sandblasted Queen of Hearts freehand with a black acrylic saddle stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Watching the Jays-Mariners game with Sleepy Suzy by my side. Molly Danger is on m'lady's lap. Daisy the Feral Princess was on my lap until I started writing this post. She's by my feet now. The others are outside.

Father Dempsey in a Peterson 608. I've had this pipe for about 8 months and it's finally starting to break in. This one was a rougher break in than normal. I actually put it down and didn't smoke it for a few months because I was getting tired of wet, shitty smokes. Thankfully we're just about past all that.
