Savinelli Tortuga 106 packed with Haunted Bookshop. Drinking an excellent cup of coffee and my smoke is hitting just perfect this morning. Weather started out a bit chilly but it's warming up fine. Just got my kids dropped off for school, now I'm sitting on the porch with my youngest, he's running around pretending to be Superman. Absolutely gorgeous day, be a fine day for our Lord's return.

Started off as a dark grey wet day but fresh ground columbian coffee with cream and PS Luxury Navy Flake in the Barontini 1/2 spigot bent billiard with 9mm filter chased the clouds and wind away and the sun is starting to come out ... I wish it worked that way all the time ! I then rinsed my pipe out with hot coffee for about a minute and a cleaner... amazing how it removes all oils and tastes so you get the full flavor of the next bowl. And it cleans quicker. I need to switch out this pipe and give it a rest as I'm starting to get addicted to it.

I fell behind reading WAYS threads back in June when we were packing up our Brooklyn apartment and moving. Then, I was swamped with typesetting, designing, and illustrating four Weird Tales Presents novels. I’m reading the WAYS threads I missed since that time, so if you get bombarded with alerts, it’s just me catching up with posts from the last five or so months.

Going to have Watch City Cigar Rouxgaroux (2021) in a Brebbia Fat Bob Selected 2114 Bulldog while I read the forum.

So, I wanted to share this big news with all of you—last night, Susan and I tied the knot!

It was a beautiful night. I’d never seen so many stars in this area before (you could see more than just Orion’s belt and shoulders in the constellation). The little fire we had going in the firepit was very cozy and kept us comfortable.

Watching the broadcast of UFC Fight Night: Reinier de Ridder vs. Brendan Allen (also known as UFC Fight Night 262 and UFC on ESPN+ 120), taking place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada. I’m starting off with Savinelli Doblone d’Oro in the first Savinelli Ottagono, a sandblasted, black, Straight Billiard (sort of a Pot after shaping) Limited Edition (No. 359/550), with a 9mm orange and black craquelure acrylic stem (I’m not using a filter; I opted for a 3mm adapter). This first Ottagono in the series used new old-stock stummels (probably made from leftover Octavia 138 stummels).

I’m following that up with Savinelli Brunello Flake in a sandblasted, black, Savinelli Ottagono Due (aka Ottagono II) Straight Dublin Limited Edition (No. 63/600, selected for my birth year, 1963); our buddy, John, is using his Ottagono Due (No. 76/600, selected for his birth year, 1976).

Next up will be Savinelli Juno in a sandblasted, black, Savinelli Ottagono Tre (aka Ottagono III) Bent Billiard Limited Edition (No. 484/600, selected for the two 4s and one 8 tying in with the octagonal theme). This pipe is based on the Octavia 638.

I got John a belated birthday present and thank you for being one of our witnesses last night: this year’s eight-sided release, a Savinelli Ottagono Long Sandblasted 138. I got him number 448 (mine is 484). I’m having Savinelli 140⁰ in it.
