I am trying to get into the habit of filling my pipes only like 80% full, but it makes for quite short smoking sessions... So time for another pipe right after the last one.

What's the reason for the 80%? Beautiful pipes by the way

Yesterday I tried some Milan Tobacco “Our” Carter Hall in a Falcon.

@Phiredog graciously provided a sample—thank you! I think I prefer this to the regular CH, but I’m saving the rest for a side by side comparison between this, original CH, and the Sutliff match.
I MUCH prefer it. All of the Milan Match blends are fantastic!

Half way through this bowl of year 2019 C&D Derringer in a straight smooth brown 1920s (Comoy’s) Lions Head 399 Canadian with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Lunch was a tall stack of cinnamon raisin French toast with unsalted peanuts, and a big, tasty golden delicious apple. Then I ran a few errands, smoked a couple bowls of tobacco, and got a clean bill of health from my brand new dentist: no cavities! :) I'm glad I switched dentists because I got better care today. The ferals were waiting at the back door when we got home, and m'lady fed them. I fed Sleepy Suzy and Molly Danger. Getting a couple of things done before the Dodgers-Phillies game starts. I'm behind doing the things I wanted to do today.

Just a quick mid-day post, from a terrific puff I had last night. Had just enough time to do a few emoticons on the previous few pages, but my students are arriving starting about fifteen minutes from now. Will be back later to catch up on current day's indulgences.

Well, boys and girls, I think you are now looking at my all-time favourite pipe. Yup, the Peterson Rhodesian Tavern is more than I ever thought it would be. For me, the perfect pipe. It delivers the perfect length smoke, 45 minutes to an hour depending on tobacco. It's now pretty much broken in, and the tobacco search is in progress.

Yesterday, after the initial 4 break-in smokes of Captain Black and Borkum Riff Dark Cavendishes, Uncle Rhody, along with with Smoker's Pride Cherry Cavendish, a much underrated fodder, delivered the best smoke I've had in months.

I've said before, this seems to be a company pipe, and the Peterson Company named it well. I'm extremely happy that it loves aromatics. Lord knows I have enough pipes genre dedicated to English and Balkans. It'll smoke longer than indicated, but my limited experience says that aros lose their flavour at the dottle stage, and I simply dump them at that point.

More later, but yeah, this 7 1/2" gem is about to become my "to-to" pipe. To me, about perfect. Yes I have other favourites, but this one is indeed special. TTYL.
