Simple lineup today:
Started the day with "Uncle Henry," on the left, my cheap Muxiang with apparently an ebony bowl. A friend of mine who's an instrument repairman says it is, and it is really heavy in comparison with other pipes of its size. It does, however, smoke great and I often use it outdoors. Fed it a fodder of my own cherry blend, a simple 7:3 mix of Smokers' Pride Classic pipe tobacco, and 3 parts of that outrageous cough drop flavoured Capt Black Cherry Cavendish. Both pretty obnoxious by themselves but form an excellent team. Had a great smoke, whatever the case may be.
Center is a standard Falcon, bantam bowl dedicated to English mixes Today it was TobaccoBarn's "Traditional English," an excellent one to my palate. Always a good smoking combo.
On the right, is one of my very favorite ppes, the Ropp J07, which I've dedicated to orientals. Don't usually smoke orientals in the evening, but Amphora Absolute ("Rich" in the USA,) is one of the tamer and most contemplative of the breed, and occasionally gets placed in the evening slot for this reason. The pipe and tobacco combo is to my palate, excellent.
Tomorrow brings a tough day for me - my duties as small bore director at the PG Rod and Gun club have been moved from Sunday to Wednesday, and I'll be shooting most of the day in prep for a handgun target demo upcoming. As I've said before on forum, I'm comparatively useless with handguns, and promise an interesting and partially out of place tobacco and firearms combo photo in this thread, which I'll probably shoot late this evening and post after midnight. The moderators can move it elsewhere if they wish, so this is a heads up in advance. It'll be tobacco oriented, however. I've just planned very contrasting accoutrements.
