Enjoyed a tasty lunch, and have passed the first third of this bowl of year 2013 Capstan Blue Flake in a straight smooth brown 1933-1945 Comoy’s patent Grand Slam 127 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Haven't smoked this pipe in while since it's a big one, but I figured I'd do it before I go back to reviewing. Gold Star Papua New Guinea, neat, is my drink.

10 year old MacBaren Navy Flake in a Mauro Armellini bent billiard. This is a real treat of a smoke. When i first popped this tin, I was disappointed with how this blend tasted with some age on it, because I have a not insignificant amount of it in my cellar. But a little time to decant has made all the difference.

I have no idea what I was smoking this afternoon ! I had to do grocery shopping which now requires my going to four stores in two towns to get the items on my small list as each store stopped carrying certain items or charges far too much but such is today's world. I loaded up my Pete pub with what I thought was Lane 1-Q. The first half of the bowl tasted exactly like Autumn Evening which is a C&D tobacco. The second half of the bowl tasted exactly like Sutliff Creme Brulee ! At no point did it taste like Lane 1-Q ! ???
I was so sure I loaded the wrong tobacco I immediately checked the bag when I got home and sure enough it said Lane 1-Q. While entirely a surprise and enjoyable I am confused. The pipe is not ghosted as I have been smoking Sutliff 507-C in it all week. Pleasantly strange.
