Just had one of those truly sublime smokes.

Had Orlik Golden Slices in a Peterson. What made it so sublime is instead of rubbing the flake out I cube cut the flake and gravity fed it into the bowl. Got going on two lights and was a delicious smoke from first puff till the last of the bowl. Starts out sharp and sour with notes of lemon and citrus and evolved into that toasty breadiness with fresh cut grass as an undertone. And it lasted an hour cause I've been trying that slow smoke that some of y'all like. I gotta cube cut my flakes more often that seems to be the ticket.

Happy Saturday y'all.

Going on a walk with wifey and mustang. Taking along Wednesday's unsmoked bowl of Mac Baren Navy Flake, this time in a MM Dagner Poker. Nice and crispy...just the way I like it!

Bird report: So far, California towhee, California scrub-jay, White-crowned sparrow, Steller's jay, Band-tailed pigeon, and American crow. Still early, though...I'm sure I'll see plenty more out in the woods.

Happy weekend all!
