2016 Manil Reserve du Patron, in a Savinelli Trevi Rusticated (320) 6mm. Using a balsa filter this time around, since they don’t appear as restrictive, or muting of the flavors like the Vauen Dr. Perl Jr are…

Be well everyone! 🤙 ❤️

P.S. My White Elephant Meerschaum filters have shipped and are on their way, can’t wait to try these.

Since this is an off diet day, and dinner is running late, I ate half of a big pastrami sub packed with lettuce, tomato and black olives. May eat the rest as a snack later. I've passed the first third of this bowl of year 2015 Sir Walter Raleigh in a black 1997 Brebbia Jubilee 925 silver banded grain sandblast briar calabash with a tapered black acrylic stem.

Had some Reserve du Patron today. I enjoy it. I use Savinelli balsa filters in all of my pipes, except the one unfiltered pipe that I own

I’m not 100% on this, but I’m assuming the age has mellowed it, because I have some recent La Brumeuse, and it’s more stout. Unless the Reserve du Patron is a lighter/mellower blend… 🤔

P.S. I assumed looking at these blends and Vincent’s website he liked a more stout blend… So the lighter Reserve didn’t quite fit the look of what I was seeing… hmm

This is definitely one of the prettier pipes I own. I think Suhr and a few others are the future of Danish pipes. No need for anything but briar and stem. He could have gotten away with a small saddle stem but choose to take it over 6 inches long with a long, sleek stem. Very happy I made this unplanned buy.

It does have some awesome grains ,but I disagree the Satou sandblast has it beat

I don’t think I compared the two?? 😂 I like the Satou as well, but kind of polar opposites in some ways. I don’t think comparing them makes a lot of sense, they are both great. Johannes Rasmussen is a young guy, keeping the Danish pipe tradition alive, he deserves our support. Sixten got his start in his grandfathers shop! His prices are really good right now, I’m sure they will go up.

Lol, I applaud pipe makers like Rasmussen, folks like him and us is what will keep pipe smoking going hopefully for many years to come just as him if I have grandkids one day I hope they take up piping like I did from mine.
