Good morning. While I am preparing some things at home, before leaving for the hospital, I am smoking a cigar, a classic Tuscan cigar. On October 9th my wife had a complete hysterectomy operation. I am practically living in the hospital until she is discharged and I take her home. She had benign myomas removed, all together they are about the size of a baby. A pandemic that, as you know, attacks women, unfortunately. I wish you a happy day. Here it is a holiday, Virgen del Pilar. God bless you guys.View attachment 252743

Had a tooth yanked yesterday. It was broken beyond repair. So this is my first smoke in 24 hours.

Yes I know - dry socket etc - luckily my dentist is a family friend and cigar smoker.
He knows I smoke a pipe so he told me to give it a day and make sure I have a good blood clot. Wet some gauze and keep it covering the area while smoking.
So that's what I'm doing. He said the vacuum created while smoking a pipe likely isn't enough to cause dry socket so I could take a chance.
Here I am taking a chance.

I do like those very rustic finished Petersons, especially the full bent ones like that. But I like a 9 mm filter pipe and I can't get on with P-lip mouthpieces and all the Petersons I liek either seems to be filterless or P-lip or both. I wonder if you can buy different stems for them?

I've read on this forum (somewhere) that some people use balsa wood rods trimmed down or a pipe cleaner to act as a filter.

I like Peterson both p-lip and fishtail, been on them since the 80 s go and grab a Peterson Army Filter in Fishtail. Check out Smoking Pipes . Com they have several great options. Search keyword “Army”plenty in stock in filter with standard/fishtail stems both bent and straight.
